Commonwealth Cancer Center's Practice Administrator Mark Allen, RN, BSN, OCN has been a practicing oncology nurse for more than twenty years. With RN and BSN degrees from Bellarmine College, Allen began his nursing career at Jewish hospital in 1988 and later moved to private practice oncology with Tom Baeker, M.D. in 1992. Allen was largely instrumental in the opening of the first two Commonwealth Cancer Center locations in central Kentucky, of which there are now nine practices. A key component of Commonwealth's mission is to offer accessible, state-of-the-art cancer care to patients in rural communities, close to their home. Allen adds: "You don't have to go to a metropolitan area to get the care you deserve. You can receive world-class, comprehensive cancer treatment right here at home."
Allen's professional affiliations span many local, regional and national Oncology organizations, for many of which he serves as an advisor and holds various board positions.
